Robots replaced the people doing the menial tasks and as a consequence people were unemployed. Government rushed to their assistance and created a welfare dependent generation of people with little to do but be dissatisfied and become angry about their individual expectations not being met. After several false starts and numerous failures the world began to emerge where the only thing most people could do was eat drink and be merry or version of that. Because self-actualization has never been a predominate characteristic of the human species there was a tendency for the place to become perverse, degenerative, and confrontational.
All the while this was going on the god complex was succeeding at redeeming segments of the society and enabling their residents to prosper in their attempts at realizing their potential. Harkening back to the time when artisans, craftsman, alchemists, and philosophers had apprentices at their sides today’s communities were energized by every imaginable skill and trade. The difference being unfettered free-enterprising individuals who could lie, cheat, and steal their way to success and failure. Today it is no longer possible to lie, cheat, or steal and as a result people could practice every thing honorable. Creating art, prose, or machine could be done so for the enjoyment of the task. Working at the few remaining jobs was not laborious but industrious. Those individuals doing the work were there because they wanted the experience of working and the opportunity to be actively engaged in physical work. Once the shortage of materials was solved and a person’s labor was not the only way to get things peoples attentions turned to self-actualization.
