In reality no one can make it on their own. Our very existence is dependent upon others to do what we can’t do ourselves. Even when we try we always reach a point of incompetence where our individual efforts fail us. For some of us the failure level is reached quite quickly. Unfortunately too many of us aren’t willing to try because of our fear of failure, others are oblivious to the fact that they have exceed their ability to reach the right note or calculate the correct answer. For the most part that is okay because collectively our competencies makes up for our individual short comings and we find ourselves in a future further dependent upon technology than ever before. What happens when someone turn the electricity off?
For many our talents are noteworthy and can be beneficial to those around us. Hearing a beautifully sung song “soothes the savage breast” William Congreve, in The Mourning Bride, 1697: Speaking with eloquence inspires our mundane and listless moments. Lifting heavy weights makes some burdens less cumbersome for the frail.
There always seems to be a few who can take a talent and expound upon it amazing us mere mortals. At the same time ask that apparently superhuman person to fix, calculate, prepare something outside of their talent and their mortality is readily apparent.
The human species has prospered because we stand upon the shoulders of giants and trample on the bones of those that have come before. There didn’t seem to be a better way. With advent of the global mind standing on the shoulders of giants was still possible but the trampling didn’t have to continue.
The most interesting thing about this life is that there seems to be someone for everything and something for everyone. The challenge is to be there when you are needed and offer it to someone at the right time and place. Life in the past always seemed to be a day late and a dollar short. If only I had known, or but I didn’t realize until it was too late and what could have been if only.
Today those challenges are still the same but the conditions are different. First, if you are willing to pay attention and do a little due diligence opportunities need not be missed. Second, a helping hand is near by and a willing heart is easily identified. Third, in really critical circumstances help is on the way. Not everyone can be everywhere at once so patience becomes a virtue when your medallion has dimmed and is colored a shade short of red.
Benefactors are only the willing acknowledgement away but when your bad attitude needs an adjustment a guardian angle is the next best thing. They bring with them knowledge, talents
