Stan, like almost everyone else, was inclined to choose the path of least resistance. It was easier to avoid responsibility than it was to accept the consequences of being irresponsible. “why do I have to clean up the mess. I didn’t make it.” There was a lower cost of not telling the truth than telling it, for the most part. “Sure I broke the bike but no one say me so I said no when asked”. Too often there is too great of a return for being dishonest or fraudulent than many can resist. “Just sign on the bottom line, everything is going to be great.” And “He deserved it”, “it wasn’t my fault”, “that made me so mad that I lost control of my anger”.
Since the beginning of time people were saddles with being there own judge. I don’t or anyone else can know what is going on in your head and there is no way that I can know for sure what happened because I can’t watch you every second of the day. Even if I could know what you are thinking or even if I were present when you made the wrong choice or acted poorly my abilities to understand, comprehend, and remember everything is so limited that my version of the truth would be different from yours or everyone else’s version of the truth.
Before the global mind could became ubiquitous it had to start first with the enterprising individual who were the first adopters. Those adopters gathered into technological enclaves where like minded people could find support and the task of minding one’s business was made manageable. Then neighborhoods made up these enclaves began to assimilate their neighbors because the resident’s agreed that they to wanted to come home to a safe harbor where the trials and tribulations of the real world were revealed and made manageable because of the assistance friends and neighbors. Gradually communities were attracted to the global mind because of the success and well being of the GM neighborhoods. City leadership inhabited by many members of the GM consortium initiated referendums and instituted measures to incorporate the GM into the lawless parts of the cities with success and amazing outcomes. Murders ceased to happen, crimes dwindled to minuscule events, and the slums were being transformed into inhabitable environments. In the so called developed world the lives of everyone was being transformed from debauched, deprived, and devastated to a responsible, willing to participate, emotionally sound populous. The undeveloped countries were experiencing a remarkable change of fortune. Those places where resources were scarce, opportunities for advancement limited, only the strong survived, and the wicked prospered were transformed by the GM because the rest of the world cared, the evil was exposed, the entrepreneurs and benefactors arrived en-mass.
The most remarkable development was the enabling of cultures to survive, coexist, even thrive because there was an ability to discriminate between harmful and harmless actions. The richness of any environment is dependent upon diversity. At the same time the danger to every environment is the affects of the diverse nature of everything and natural inclinations to seek dominance. The GM makes it possible for people to be true to themselves while balancing their nature with that of the community. The nature is arrived at by consensus, not formal or negotiated consensus but an informal and organic agreement about what we, as a community, want to value.
Those seeking a different value were enabled and assisted in finding their niche while those who longed to become a member of different community or culture were encourage to associate and eventually commune with it.
This was all made possible because of the organic programming of the Global Mind, the advanced technology which monitored our very lives and thoughts, and a willingness of the general population of the world to want to cooperate and succeed as opposed to dissociate and war among ourselves for the limited.
